KEY YOUTH PROGRAM GOALS
The GRAYDI afterschool and summer programs focus on fun, learning, and an overall positive growth experience for our youth participants. We provide academic and tutorial support services to Elementary and Middle school students who participate in GRAYDI’s after school community-based learning programs.
GRAYDI utilizes Project Based Learning (PBL) to inspire and challenge program participants to view learning as both valuable and enjoyable. PBL is an active, student-centered form of instruction, which is characterized by students’ autonomy, constructive investigations, goal setting, collaboration, communication and reflection within real-world practices.
GRAYDI’s after school and summer programs are facilitated by a State of Florida certified teacher. Our PBL instruction includes a variety of science experiments, creative projects and game-like activities. The use of these activities helps to trigger and maintain situational interest in subject areas by correlating them with play times, and indoor and outdoor activities. We provide full family support services to our adult and families. Family engagement is also provided to foster positive relationships with our kids and adults.

GRAYDI’s Summer Camp Program provides youth participants with an enriched academic experience that prevents summer learning loss and encourages an excitement for education, while also providing opportunities for traditional summer camp time activities such as swimming, weekly field trips, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and spirit days in a safe and structured environment. Academic rotations utilize Project Based Learning to ensure youth engagement in addition to Summer Bridge curriculum to strengthen core concepts and prepare students to build upon these concepts.
